A Visit from Network Rail

On Wednesday 20th March 2024, as part of our British Science Week celebrations, Years 5+6 honed their knowledge of engineering and infrastructure by having a visit from Network Rail's Kim Carter.

Kim came in and discussed how some of the key skills of being a scientist are used in the day to day running of our rail service. She shared some amazing facts about our trains and reinforced a really important message about trespassing on railway lines.

Our young engineers were captivated and really connected the ideas of 'good choices' in school with staying safe in the wider world.

We hope to continue to work with National Rail in the near future and thank Kim for driving all the way down from Swindon to see us! We have some Punjabi language rail safety postcards to give out to parents/carers as well.
