Anti-Racism Talks with Niharika
We all know Southall is a fascinating place to live and work. Did you know that over 80,000 people live here now? I also just found out that King Charles actually used to order his Indian takeaway from the Brilliant!
To help our children understand a little bit more about how amazing Southall is, Nikharita from the Southall Community Alliance joined us on Tuesday 11th November to talk to our Year 5's. They learned how Southall has changed over the last 3 centuries and how migration has made it the vibrant place it is today. Our young anthropologists also realised that Southall has a darker side to its history - the racist murders of Gurdip Singh Chagger and Blair Peach.
To show our commitment to being an anti-racist school, we created badges and hats to proudly display our message that everyone is welcome in this great town.
Thank you to Janpal, Niharika and everyone else at the SCA for their amazing support.
