Aviation Careers Morning
Considering how close we are to Heathrow Airport at Dairy Meadow, I thought it would be an amazing idea to open our children's eyes to all the potential employment opportunities working at an airport could bring. Alongside our good friend Jude from Primary Futures, Wednesday 12th November saw us hold our first ever aviation careers morning.
We were fortunate enough to have four amazing volunteers come and join us:
Mark - a British Airways Captain.
Suzy - also a BA Captain, who takes responsibility for mentoring young pilots.
Moe - an engineer at Gatwick Airport
Tim - a helicopter search and rescue pilot.
Our children had to try and match the jobs to our volunteers and had the opportunity to ask loads of questions. I think my personal favourite was 'How can I become a pilot in the future?' (you can check out BA Speedbird for the answers!).
I can't say thank you enough to our volunteers and Primary Futures. They have given our children the chance to dream big and see future versions of themselves. I look forward to them flying me around when I retire!!!
