Chandran Foundation Graduation

There was a celebratory mood at Dairy Meadow on Friday 4th July 2024 as our Year 5 children 'graduated' from their ten week online tuition programme.

For those who haven't been following the latest news on our website, 36 of our wonderful 9 and 10 year olds have been receiving online English tuition courtesy of the amazing Chandran Foundation. I know from all the test scores and pieces of data that I have crunched that all our children's confidence and ability has increased when answering comprehension and grammar questions.

To celebrate we had some very special guests join us. Chitra is the inspirational head of the foundation, continuing her father's amazing work to promote education as a way to breaking down barriers. She shared her story with all of KS2 about how to dream big and work hard.

Alongside we had Aman who was actually an ex Dairy Meadow pupil! He now works for the National Lottery and matches funding with worthy causes. It was amazing to see someone who once walked these corridors (and remembered Mrs Lall, Mrs Malik and Mrs Sall) come back to talk about his career.

And of course, what is a celebration, without some 'champagne' and canapes*

We're so proud of our Year 5's and equally as proud to partner up with the Chandran Foundation next year.

* It was orange squash and Kit Kats!
