Exploding Food! A Royal Institute Show

Monday 3rd November 2025 was a really exciting day for all the young scientists here at Dairy Meadow. We welcomed Thomas Buckingham, a member of the Royal Institute, to perform an interactive workshop all about Exploding Food!

The Royal Institution is one of the oldest and most prestigious Science groups of all time - for over 200 years they have been connecting all members of society with the world of Science. We were lucky to have Thomas come in and show us: how much energy is in our food, how digestion works and even giving us a sneaky glimpse into his oeseophoagus and intestines!

I know all the children had an amazing time and were able to link what they're doing in the classroom with Thomas' amazing demonstrations.
