Featherstone Readers Intervening!

It's been an absolute pleasure for me to co-ordinate a reading intervention for some of our children in conjunction with Mr Webb at Featherstone High. From an initial 30 minute meeting, we managed to rope in Mrs Cheung and Miss Spilsted to help co-ordinate 16 Year 12 and 13 students to demonstrate and coach reading fluency to some of our Year 2 children.

The purpose of this project was to allow our children to have access to some reading role models from outside the school. By listening to our teachers in training read fluently with: expression, accuracy, rhythm and smoothness - it can only inspire our youngsters to foster a love of reading well.

Plus it is really cute to see! The project is going to happen weekly and I'm really excited about the results.
