Fire Safety Talks from Kaival
On Friday 4th October 2024, Dairy Meadow welcomed Kaival Singh from the London Fire Brigade to talk about fire safety. This was especially important after the huge fire near Western Road earlier on this week!
Kaival spoke to Year 2 and Year 5 about the importance of fire safety and how best to minimise risk of fire at home. He also mentioned that the London Fire Brigade offer 'Home Fire Safety Visits', where specially trained staff will come to your home for free to give advice and fit smoke alarms - full details of this are below.
Our children clearly enjoyed spending time with Kaival, they said:
- I liked the cartoon because it helped us still interested and showed us what we needed to do in the situation- I will remember what to do if I was in the same situation.
- I enjoyed learning about the smoke detectors and how they keep us safe.
- I enjoyed learning about how to keep safe if there was a fire and how to get down the stairs safely.
- I learnt that there are special smoke alarms for people that were deaf- I didn't know this before.
