Formula 1 in Schools Competition Winners

At Dairy Meadow we are fortunate to have an amazing link with St Paul's Girls School in Hammersmith. Under the tutelage of Mr McInnes, we worked alongside them to enter a competition all based around Formula 1. Our young mechanics and designers had to engineer their own race car which was judged by Year 11 students. I'm pleased to say we have some winners!

Overall winner: Zoha (Elm)

Best Engineered Car: Lysela (Elm)

Most Environmentally Friendly Design: Safaa (Oak)

Best Looking Car: Ameera (Cedar)

Most Innovative Design: Belina (Cedar)

Here is what the Year 11 students had to say about each entry:

Best Overall: The utilisation of 3D and 2D perspective was excellent, with a fun use of colours, patterns, and annotations to bring the drawing to life. Adding a helmet/driver was also a very nice touch!

Best Engineered: The car looked impressively robust with different materials used in different aspects of the car to enhance the design. The side pod design looked particularly interesting and innovative - good work!

Best Looking: We were very impressed by the attention to detail of the model from the Red Bull branding to the accurate car dimensions. The professionalism and complex structure of the model was what made it really flourish. Well done!

Most innovative: A very creative and new design quite unlike ordinary F1 cars! We thought the shape of the car was bold and exciting with nice attention to detail on the axels and wheels.

Most eco-friendly: The consideration of the car's engine being electric to be eco-friendly made this design stand out alongside its exciting additions of rocket boosters, super fast wheels, and wings.

Congratulations to all the children who took part, there are book tokens for the winners!
