Hot Chocolate Friday - History!
It was an absolute pleasure for Mr Feldman and Miss Kaur to sit down on the afternoon of Friday 4th November 2022 to hear about how much our children are enjoying the History curriculum at Dairy Meadow.
I was really proud of how children were able to talk through what they are learning in History - even when Lysela explained the Bucket Method of punishment during the Shang Dynasty.
Over hot chocolate and biscuits we had a really constructive discussion over the notion of power. I was particularly impressed with how Mohammed linked power into the Anglo Saxon invasion of the East of England, as well as this Valensa's linking of how power can corrupt during the triangular slave trade was equally striking.
Special mention must go to Safa who used her knowledge of Sargon the Great gained in Year 4 to create a powerful Ding statue in Year 5.
I had a really great time, thank you to Sahib, Mohammed, Sahibjot, Lysela, Safa, Valensa and Gurkeerat. Next week, we will look at Art!
