Miss Spilsted launches the Reading Ambassadors
We are always looking to provide examples for pupil leadership here at Dairy Meadow. After the unbridled success of our Maths Ambassadors, Miss Spilsted had the wonderful idea of launching Reading Ambassadors. This team of amazing Y6's will be supporting younger children in their reading during soft starts. They have been instructed to use Bug Club to access a range of texts to promote reading fluency and stamina.
Enough with the technical stuff - let's give a massive WELL DONE to: Prabhnoor, Maryam, Maleeha, Abisha, Bu Ali, Alisha and Zaid - we all know you're going to be a great success.
The pupils above submitted applications and went through a rigorous interview process with Miss Spilsted.
"I can be a role model by sharing my patience and kindness with the child I'm reading with. I'd also want to make the reading more fun so they look forward to it." - Zaid
"My role models are my Year 6 teachers because they know how to help me in each lesson. They make learning fun and they inspire me to do well."- Prabhnoor
"People who inspire me are those who help others. I think I can also do this because I'm calm and patient, and I can show that when I'm helping a child read." - Maleeha
