Peregrine Falcons in Ealing!

All of our school lives here at Dairy Meadow are so busy that sometimes we forget to stop and be mindful of all the wonderful nature that surrounds ace. Fortunately Petra Shahzad, the mother of Daanyal in Elm Class, has draw our attention to something quite wonderful.

On a tiny ledge, hanging from Ealing Hospital there is a nest that contains two eggs of one of our most amazing birds, the peregrine falcon. The peregrine is a large and powerful falcon. It has long, broad, pointed wings and a relatively short tail. It is blue-grey above, with a blackish top of the head and an obvious black 'moustache' that contrasts with its white face. It is known as being the fastest bird in the UK and is a deadly hunter.

If you would like to see a live stream of the nest (I'm fairly addicted and can't wait to see the eggs hatch!) you can click here.
