Project Jupiter - The Finale!

Dairy Meadow has been an exciting place to be a budding musician in the last 6 months, as students in year 5 have been taking part in the Jupiter Project alongside Saint Paul’s Girls’ School in Hammersmith.
For this project, 20 students were taken to both Derwentwater Primary School, and Saint Paul’s Girls’ School in order to learn one of four instruments; flute, trumpet, clarinet, and violin. They were then tutored, alongside students from Saint Mary’s Primary School, and Derwentwater Primary School, by senior school musicians from Saint Paul’s Girls’ School.
This involved many trips, and many hours spent practicing, but finally, our students were able to perform a piece - “Jupiter Rising” – as a part of a 150 piece orchestra entirely made up of students.
To say it was a phenomenal experience would be an understatement, with our Dairy Meadow performers shining. Well done to all students involved, and a big thank you to the staff of Saint Paul’s Girls’ School for helping to facilitate this whole process. A massive 'Well Done' is also needed for Mr McInnes and Miss Francois, their dedication, organisation and positivity really provided a phenomenal experience for the children.
