SCS Railways visit Years 4 and 5

Thursday 19th October 2023 saw our children pull together learning from their DT, Geography and Skills Builder curriculums as they tackled a fiendishly difficult problem from SCS Railways.

Our year 4 and 5 engineers took part in an exciting bridge building workshop lead by volunteers from SCS Railways. During this workshop the children demonstrated teamwork skills and clear communication skills through their listening and speaking. Throughout this challenge, the children were working in teams to achieve one goal- 'build a bridge using a variety of materials.' Each group used previous design and technology skills as they explored designing and engineering, as well as their maths skills, through budgeting and exploring different shapes and materials.
