School's Veg Plant Giveaway

Dairy Meadow was fortunate enough to receive a plant donation by MindFood during their third annual schools' veg plant giveaway. Mindfood is an Ealing-based mental health charity supporting people with depression and anxiety by providing courses in food growing, gardening, art and more. The project started out in Lockdown 2020 as a way to show schools that stayed open that we were thinking of them as they supported the children of health workers and key workers through the pandemic.

At Dairy Meadow, some plants went to our Early Years classrooms as Reception have been doing planting as part of their Understanding the World Unit. They really enjoyed digging up their carrots!  

Our Year 3 classes grew their plants as part of their Plant Nutrition and Reproduction unit in Science. They made observations about the changes throughout the growing process.
