Water Safety Assemblies - SAFE
On Tuesday 18th April, KS1 and KS2 took part in a Water Safety Assembly which was delivered by some wonderful volunteers from the Canal and Rivers Trust.
This assembly reinforced the risks around water and provided the children with knowledge and skills to be able to make safe and informed decisions as well as learning ways to keep safe around water. The children were encouraged to differentiate between risks, hazards and dangers alongside recognising, predicting and assessing risks in different situations and how to manage them responsibly. We will all remember the SAFE rule- Stay Away From the Edge!
With the Grand Union Canal just around the corner from Dairy Meadow, we thought it vital that our children knew how to enjoy all the wonderful outdoor opportunities it provides safely. A big THANK YOU to Miss Steadman for organising.
