Year 1 Have Been Chopping, Slicing and Mashing

Year 1 have been exploring the wonderful world of food in their DT unit - Chop, Slice and Mash. 

Children were given the task of creating a new type of sandwich that would be good enough to be sold at supermarkets, but first they needed to plan and create something that no one had ever seen before!  We had jam and cheese sandwiches, strawberries, chicken and ketchup sandwiches; the list goes on with our children's creativity.  Year 1 learnt many practical skills too such as spreading, grating and chopping to make their unique creations. It has been a great week and I hope all the parents enjoyed their share from our little chefs!

Well done Year 1, looking forward to trying the food from all our future Gordon Ramsay's and Angela Hartnett's.
