Year 1 visit the Wetland Centre

The London Wetland Centre is easily one of my favourite places in London. It's beautiful, peaceful and full of amazing wildlife. 

Miss Steadman has forged an amazing link with the centre. Evidence shows that connecting with nature makes children feel happier, increases their self-esteem and improves their behaviour as well as their physical and mental health. It also develops their creativity, imagination, teamwork, communication and observational skills. All of this leads to improved learning and great opportunities to link to our science and geography curriculum. 

As a result, Year 1 visited on Thursday 12th June 2025 to learn all about plant and animal parts. Have a look at some of the amazing images below to get an insight into what they learned.
