Year 3 go back to the Stone Age
Last Monday (21st November 2022, yes I forgot to update the website!) our young historians, social anthropologists and palaeontologists had a sensational workshop that charted the journey from Stone Age to Iron Age in Britain.
To hone their skills of enquiry, our historians looked at how tools changed over time and the use of different metals and their impact on society as a whole. Children looked at artefacts and tried to solve a murder mystery by using their inference skills about a warrior and the contents of his grave that were left behind when he died. At the end of the day they learned about animals that were around during these time periods, thus reinforcing work done in Science and then took part in a javelin throwing activity that will hold them in great stead for PE's Throwing and Catching.
A massive 'Thank You' to Miss Kaur and Mrs Royle for organising.
