Year 4's Brilliant Books Project

As part of Skills Builder week, Year 4 harnessed their inner publishers and advertisers to explore how best to promote reading here at Dairy Meadow.

During this topic, year 4 explored what children enjoy about reading through a passionate debate which ignited ways they could inspire more people in our community to read. The children developed a reading reward scheme, linked to our whole school reading challenge and library borrowing system, as well as, redesigned our reading area and promoting their love for books. The topic concluded with a visit from our Reception classes and the year 4 children shared some wonderful books with them, whilst sharing new vocabulary and asking key questions to support their understanding.
