Year 6 NFL Fun Day

Sometimes it's fun to get outside your comfort zone and try something new. There are so many amazing sports out there, why waste your time with the same boring: football, dodgeball and cricket? Our intrepid Year 6's decided to do just that as they put on their shoulder pads and helmets to play American football.

Thursday 13th July 2023 saw Miss Spilsted play quarterback and Miss Francois offensive linesman as they co-ordinated 15 Year 6's at the Crystal Palace Sports Centre. During the day they learned a little more about the game of NFL flag and managed to test out their tactical nous as well as their handling and passing skills. The day was organised by Nigerian/English NFL sensation Efe Obada who plays for the Washington Commanders. I can confirm that our youngsters were treated like royalty and came back 'dripping in new swag' (which apparently means they received loads of free things!).

A massive thank you to Janpal and Kamljit at the Southall Community Alliance for making the day possible.
