Year 6 Visit Sky Studios

Tuesday 7th November and Thursday 9th November saw our Year 6 children become members of the media as they embarked on a visit to Sky Studios in Osterley.

The purpose of the trip was to gain a deeper understanding of how television is made, hopefully igniting a passion for careers in the media when our youngsters are older. Elm and Oak were able to make their own film trailers and news bulletins, all based around climate change.

Under the expert tutelage of Mel and her team, children took on distinct roles in the studio (Presenter, actor, editor and camera operator). After demonstrating collaboration and creativity by writing their own script, it was a short trip to the wardrobe before - LIGHTS, CAMERA and ACTION!

We were also allowed to have a tour of the Sky Sports Studios (personally, this was the most exciting part of the day for me!) and Elm Class were able to meet some members of the House of Lords media committee!
